Alex Baena insists he forgives everything that happened to Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde since 2022.
Villarreal midfielder Alex Baena, 23, has revealed he is happy to move on from his past conflict with Real Madrid’s Uruguayan midfielder Federico Valverde, which began in April 2022, according to Relevo on Friday.
The incident occurred after Real Madrid’s game against Villarreal, with the Uruguayan midfielder allegedly waiting for Baena on the away team bus to punch him after he verbally abused his pregnant wife, and the Yellow Submarine midfielder suffered a bruise over his eye socket.
Baena was then reported to have filed a police report for assault, but the case has not progressed due to lack of clear evidence. About 18 months after the incident, Baena is now ready to move on from the conflict.
‘Things happened and that’s it. I forgive everything that happened because to move on, you have to learn to forgive and forget. For me, everything is okay,’ Baena said.
However, the 23-year-old midfielder admitted he did not speak to Valverde during their latest on-pitch encounter but has not elaborated on the conflict further.
‘I haven’t spoken UFABET to him. We had to confront each other many times after the incident, and it’s very normal. If one day we can talk to him and we can explain what happened, I agree.’
